Arunachal CM launches Airtel’s 5G services in Itanagar

With this, Airtel 5G Plus services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the country’s leading telecommunications services provider continues to construct its network and complete the rollout.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday launched the cutting-edge 5G services of Airtel in the state capital, Itanagar, in presence of state’s Information Technology Minister Wangki Lowang and other dignitaries.

With this, Airtel 5G Plus services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the country’s leading telecommunications services provider continues to construct its network and complete the rollout.

Customers with 5 G-enabled devices will enjoy high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no extra cost until the rollout is more widespread, the company said in a statement.

Currently operational at H-sector, Chandan Nagar, Senki Park, Dony Polo Vidya Bhawan, BB Plaza, P-sector, Zero Point, Jully Basti, Bank Tinali, Gohpur Tinali, Civil Secretariat in Itanagar, Airtel assured that it will augment its network, making its services available across the city in due course of time.

Lauding Airtel for the roll out of its 5G services in the state, the Chief Minister said, it is important to synergize the state government’s efforts in building digital infrastructure across the state as the society and economy are heavily reliant on digital services across all walks of life in the modern day.

“The vision for socio-economic development of the state and country as a whole will majorly depend on the delivery of services (G2C, G2B, B2B and B2C) through digital platforms which will require the considerable presence of reliable digital infrastructure across the country. The impact of deployment of 5G networks will go far beyond current wireless access networks and will touch all verticals of the economy,” he observed.

Khandu expressed hope that sectors like healthcare, agriculture, Smart City project, oil & natural gas, etc will immensely benefit from 5G connectivity.

Referring to his recent visit to the Dibang Valley district, the CM informed that digital connectivity is still lacking in the district and urged Airtel to take it up on priority.

The launch ceremony was also attended by state Chief Secretary Dharmendra and representatives of Bharti Airtel headed by CEO (North East and Assam circle) Rajnish Verma, CTO Ashish Bansal and Marketing Head Ajitabh Singh.
