Arunachal Cabinet accepts ‘Reports on Unsung Heroes’

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, on Monday accepted the ‘Report on the Unsung Heroes of Arunachal Pradesh who fought against the British, which will be released on February 20 during the Statehood Day celebrations, official sources said.

It may be mentioned that President Droupadi Murmu will grace the 37th Statehood Day function here on February 20.

“After months of research and hard work by the History dept of Rajiv Gandhi University under the Core Committee as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the report on the Unsung Heroes of Arunachal Pradesh was accepted today during the 4th cabinet meeting of 2023 chaired by CM Pema Khandu ji,” Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said in tweet.

“A great work done by Dept of History, Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh. “I am sure the study will revive golden history of our State & help us reconnect with forgotten heroes who fought valiantly against oppression of Britishers to safeguard the motherland and give us the precious freedom,” Khandu wrote on his Twitter handle.

The Deputy Chief Minister also showered praise on the RGU research team for their relentless efforts in putting together this extensive report which honours the glorious history of Arunachal Pradesh.

“The same will be released on 20 February during the Statehood Day celebrations of Arunachal Pradesh”, Mein said.
