Army organises mini-marathon in Arunachal Pradesh

December 16, 2021 marks the 50th year of the victory and the year is being celebrated as the Swarnim Vijay Varsh.

Itanagar: Indian Army on Wednesday organised a mini-marathon at Walong in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, a Defence spokesman said.
The mini-marathon was conducted by Dao Division of Spear Corps as a part of ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ (golden victory year) celebrations, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war, Guwahati-based Defence PRO Lt Col Khongsai said.
In December 1971, the Indian Armed Forces achieved a stellar victory over Pakistan which led to the creation of Bangladesh.
The event saw an overwhelming response from people of Walong and nearby villages as more than 120 people registered and completed the run, he added.
