Imphal: In a joint operation, the Assam Rifles and Indian Army on Sunday recovered seven sophisticated arms and ammunition at Gelmol, Churachandpur district on Sunday.
A total of seven weapons including one M4 assault rifle (without magazine), one 9mm pistol (with magazine), one Sten machine gun, one 9mm country-made pistol (with magazine), one 0.22 mm country-made pistol (with magazine), along with ammunition besides locally improvised mortars and explosives were recovered, an Assam Rifles official said.
The recovered arms were handed over to the Churachandpur Police station, he added.
