Imphal: Assam Rifles has inaugurated a new Community Hall at Chakama village in Kamjong district, Manipur, under Operation Sadbhavna, reaffirming its commitment to community development and civil–military cooperation. The facility was formally opened by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles, Imphal, Manipur, in the presence of officials, civil dignitaries, village elders, and residents.
The Community Hall has been established to provide the villagers with a dedicated space for social, cultural, and community activities. Until now, events were conducted through makeshift arrangements, often disrupted by adverse weather conditions. The new facility is expected to significantly improve the quality of community life and strengthen local cohesion.
During the interaction, the Senior Officer underlined the enduring bond between Assam Rifles and the people of Manipur, reiterating the organisation’s commitment to peace, development, and inclusive growth. He emphasised that initiatives under Operation Sadbhavna are designed to empower communities and respond to their genuine needs.
The inauguration was marked by a vibrant cultural programme organised by the villagers, showcasing traditional music and dance as an expression of gratitude. The event brought together 200 villagers along with officials and troops of Assam Rifles, reflecting strong civil–military bonding. The Community Hall stands as a meaningful step towards fostering harmony, development, and cooperation in the region.
