Imphal: Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), conducted a felicitation ceremony at Shalluk village to honour Assistant Commandant RNG Shungwar, a newly commissioned officer from the prestigious Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
Hailing from Shalluk village in Chakpikarong Sub Division, Assistant Commandant Shungwar was felicitated for his remarkable achievement in earning a commission from the ranks, bringing pride to the entire region. The ceremony, held at the COB Shalluk, included the presence of his proud family, who were also honoured for their unwavering support and sacrifices in shaping his success.
The Commandant of the Battalion extended his heartfelt congratulations to the officer and
wished him a bright future. Speaking at the event, Shalluk village Chief PY Samuel remarked, “Such events not only inspire the local youth but also encourage others to join the Security Forces of the nation.”
