Imphal: Assam Rifles, under the leadership of IGAR (South), carried out extensive fogging operations this week to fight mosquito-borne diseases in various parts of Imphal East and Imphal West Districts.
The operations took place in Brahmapur Bomon Leikai, Brahmapur Lalji Lakpa Leikai (Imphal East), and Keishomthong Laisom Leirak (Imphal West), areas severely affected by recent outbreaks of dengue and malaria.
In a bid to safeguard public health, Assam Rifles implemented comprehensive fogging and spraying activities, extending to nearby areas to maximize efforts in controlling the spread of diseases, particularly during the monsoon season when dengue and malaria pose a serious risk.
Local leaders, village heads, Meira Paibis, and residents expressed their deep gratitude for the timely intervention, praising Assam Rifles for their continued efforts to ensure community health and safety.
Water Tanks Distributed
On Wednesday, Assam Rifles provided water storage tanks and essential items to Charlong village in Chandel District, Manipur.
As part of their ongoing initiative to improve basic amenities and support socio-economic development in remote villages, these water tanks will help the villagers store more clean water, addressing the water scarcity issues that worsen during the monsoon season.
The villagers warmly thanked Assam Rifles for the thoughtful gesture, which has fostered stronger trust and cooperation between the community and the security forces.
