AR celebrates International Women’s Day at Tamenglong

The programme was conceptualised to highlight the achievements of women in diverse fields who had broken the shackles of stereotypes and played a pivotal role in shaping our society while inspiring several others around them.

Imphal: On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2024, Tamenglong Battalion made headway on the path of progress by organising a seminar on March 8, 2024 at Apollo Ground, Tamenglong. The seminar was conducted on the theme, ‘Inspire Inclusion’ and was a resolute step for driving gender parity to make the International Women’s Day impactful.

The programme was conceptualised to highlight the achievements of women in diverse fields who had broken the shackles of stereotypes and played a pivotal role in shaping our society while inspiring several others around them. 

The event showcased five speakers who delivered talks on various issues. Capt Preeti Choudhary delivered a talk on Inclusion of women in Armed Forces, Dr. Gracy Pamei on Women in Healthcare, Malianginliu Panmei on the role of Zeliangronpui women, Samyi Pame on Inclusion of women in Education and Dr Achingliu Kamei on Women as keepers of History & Culture. 

The event was attended by Jangehmlung Panmei, MLA, Tamenglong, Lanmiyo Luikham, SP, Tamenglong and Ajikmai Pamei, Chairperson of Rani Gaidinliu Foundation Trust, amonst the others. The event was very well received and garnered immense footfall. 

The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist, nor to any organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.  

Tamenglong Battalion organised the event in a bid to rid the community of bias and stereotypes while simultaneously attempting to forge women’s equality and inspire inclusion.
