Kohima: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said the BJP is committed to solving Naga political problem as soon as possible.
Addressing an election rally at local ground Mon Town to campaign for BJP and Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Shah on Monday assured that the people that the Center
will expeditiously bring the Naga peace talks to a successful end.
On the issues of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation, which has been demanding a
separate state, Shah said the issues raised by ENPO were legitimate and informed that Center is discussing and understanding their problems and assured them that the new Union Government that will be formed under the Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who will resolve these after the Assembly elections.
He said that the NDPP-BJP coalition will form Government in Nagaland after polls and will solve all problems of the state.
Shah also said that whatever is needed, like extra budgetary allocations, more power to council, equal development, the next BJP-NDPP government will work on it.
He said that Prime Minister Modi has taken the initiative to usher in peace and development in the North Eastern region and pointed out that the BJP Government had resolved several issues faced
by the North Eastern states like the Bru, Reang issue, decades old Bodo issue and Karbi Anglong agreement and assured that he along with Prime Minister Modi have been pursuing to resolve the Naga issue at the earliest.
The Union Home Minister also criticised the Congress party and party’s leader Rahul Gandhi and said that after 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the Congress party will not be visible even through a telescope.
