AK Rifle recovered after combing operation in Churachandpur

Imphal: Troops of Assam Rifles and Manipur police recovered one AK-56 Rifle, six single barrel rifles, four improvised heavy mortars and one Chinese made grenade and ammunition in Churachandpur district on Wednesday.

Based on specific intelligence of the presence of arms and ammunition in the general area of Walkhu village near Tuitam Khongkhai, Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a combing operation on Wednesday, an officer of Assam Rifles said. 

The recovered weapons, ammunition and war-like stores have been handed over to Sangaikot Police Station, Churachandpur. 

 The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, according to a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
