Barabanki: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday claimed that his party will emerge as a strong political outfit in the 2022 assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.

He said that since 2014 only Muslims are being killed through mob lynching.

“Only mosques and Muslims were being targetted in UP and no political parties have opposed it,” he alleged.

Mr Owaisi also raised the issue of razing a mosque in Barabanki. “Can CM Yogi Adityanath answer why it had violated Constitution by demolishing the mosque in Barabanki,” he said.

“Ex SP MP from Badaun Dharmendra Yadav too did not utter a word when a mosque was demolished in Badaun. This shows the real face of SP,” he said.

The AIMIM President was addressing a meeting here in Katra locality on Thursday.

Mr Owaisi said, “Secularism along with Muslims has been deliberately weakened in the country. Dalits are also being targeted. Atrocities against Muslims have been committed at the behest of BJP while other parties like SP, BSP or Congress played the role of mute spectators and they did not utter a word against CAA, Triple Talaq”.

Before the meeting, he met the workers over tea at the residence of the party’s youth wing district president Chaudhary Faiz-ur-Rehman here.

Significantly, after the cancellation of other programs, the administration had given permission to Mr Owaisi to hold a small meeting late on Wednesday night.

Asaduddin Owaisi was only allowed to have tea and snacks at the residence of Chaudhary Faiz ur Rehman. Here too the administration had permitted the gathering of no more than fifty people with strict instruction to the following of all COVID norms.

Mr Owaisi will end his 3 days visit to UP and will fly back to Hyderabad this evening.
