Advisor Tovihoto Ayemi inaugurates transformer, multiple projects at Wokha

The Advisor thanked department officials, power grid, techno grid and others involved for timely completion of the works and handing it over to the people.

Kohima: Under the aegis of 75 years of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav the department of Power inaugurated 132/33KV, 25 MVA Transformer and its Bay Equipments at 132/33KV Wokha Sub-Station along with 11 other projects downstream connectivity elements constructed under NERPSIP TRANCHE-1 on 18th January 2022.

MLA AndĀ Advisor for Power, H. Tovihoto Ayemi, speaking at the inauguration function, said with the inauguration of such multiple projects the department will be able to provide 24X7 uninterrupted power supply, where he urged the people to generously donate/provide land when it comes to development so that the department can implement more of such projects for the benefit of the people. He appealed to the people to check power theft, timely payment of electricity bills and initiate awareness programmes to conserve electricity for common cause.

The Advisor thanked department officials, power grid, techno grid and others involved for timely completion of the works and handing it over to the people. He also added that because of the pandemic some other works/projects are getting a little delayed but works are in progress and will be completed very shortly and urged the people to extend support and co-operation.

Guest of Honour, MLA Dr. Chumben Murry said You and I can contribute to the regularity of power supply by knowing how to conserve energy when it is not required, knowing how to pay bills in time and be a responsible consumer and citizen then only department will also be more obligated to provide us regular power.

Dr. Murry while congratulating the Power department for the great achievement thanked the Advisor for Power on behalf of the Lotha community for fulfilling the needs and requirements of the people of Wokha district and the State.

The 11 other projects are, 33/11KV 5MVA at Niropen colony, Wokha, 33/11KV Sub-Station capacity augmentation from 1.6MVA to 5MVA at Chukitong, 33/11 Sub-Station capacity augmentation from 2.5MVA to 5MVA at Tseminyu, 33/11 Sub-Station capacity augmentation from 1.6 MVA to 5MVA at Pughoboto, 33KV extension at Terogunyu, 33KV line from Terogunyu to Pughoboto, 33/11KV Sub-Station capacity augmentation from 1.6MVA to 5MVA at Botsa, 33/11KV, 2X5MVA Lalmati (Zubza) Sub-division, 33/11 Sub-Station capacity augmentation from 1.6MVA to 5MVA at Chakabama, 33/11 Sub-Station capacity augmentation from 10MVA to 20MVA at ITI Kohima and 33/11 Sub-Station capacity augmentation from 10MVA to 20MVA at Industrial Estate, Dimapur.

Short speeches were also delivered by Er. L.A. Sharma Sr. G.M NERPSIP, Powergrid, Er.Mhondamo, Chairman Lotha Hoho; Er. Moa Aier, Chief Engineer (D And R); Er. Nribemo Mozhui, Engineer-in-Chief (Power) and Principal Secretary (Power, IT&C) K.D.Vizo.

The function was chaired by Er. Kasho Chishi Superintending Engineer (Generation) while the welcome address was delivered by Er. Penrithung Yanthan, Chief Engineer (T And G).

Er. Tiameren Walling, Addl.Chief Engineer (D&R) while presenting the Technical report said the total project/package cost for the entire works was Rs. 141.7 Crore.
