A veteran BJP leader beaten up by another leader in Tripura

Police said an investigation based on the complaint of the victim Manoranjan Paul has been launched against the accused Nath but no arrest so far.

Agartala: Internal conflict among ruling BJP leadership of Tripura has worsened further after South Tripura district general secretary Raju Nath has allegedly beaten up a 68 years old Kisan Morcha (BJP’s farmers’ front) leader yesterday in Belonia.

Police said an investigation based on the complaint of the victim Manoranjan Paul has been launched against the accused Nath but no arrest so far.

The victim was released from the hospital after primary healthcare. The matter has also been reported to the BJP state committee seeking action against the accused person.

The victim Paul had purchased a plot of land in his native place at the Giridhari Till area did not allow the soil-loaded truck of accused Raju Nath to pass across his plot of land. After a brief heated exchange, the accused Nath was reportedly beaten up by Manoranjan.
