Itanagar: In view of the spike in Coronavirus cases in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), the district administration on Friday decided to impose a seven-day lockdown within the region from May 10 to contain the spread of the virus.
As per an order issued by ICR Deputy Commissioner (DC) Talo Potom on Friday, it will begin at 0500 hours on Monday and will remain into force till 0500 hours of May 17.
During the lockdown period, operation of all shops and business establishments except milk and dairy products, all vehicular movement, any kind of construction activities in sites operated by Government and private individuals, pubic movement, offices and institutions,
both Government and private will remain suspended. Construction under major projects of the Government will continue.
However, medical and health services, fire services, banking services, petrol pumps, electricity, water, milk van, sanitisation services, pharmacies, BSNL and internet service providers (telecom services) will be allowed
