Churachandpur: As part of the ongoing week-wise thematic activities under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, programmes on the theme “Water and Sanitation – Jal Evam Swachhata Sewa” were held today at Adi Seva Kendras (ASKs) located at Lamka South and Lanva TD Block Offices.
The activities were conducted under the supervision of Thangboi Gangte, BDO, Lamka South and Jameson Hangshing, BDO, Lanva, under the aegis of the District Administration, Churachandpur.
The key focus areas included awareness regarding safe drinking water, household sanitation and hygiene; community cleanliness and Shramdaan around ASK premises and village common spaces. During the camps, focus was also laid on Jal Jeevan Mission and water conservation; identification and reporting of drinking water and sanitation gaps; demonstrations on safe water storage and handwashing; and community mobilisation for upkeep of water sources and public spaces.
The concerned line departments briefly highlighted their departmental activities and services relating to water and sanitation. The Health & Family Welfare Department also provided on-the-spot health services for the local people, including RBS, Diabetes, Dengue and TB screening, along with awareness on preventive health care.
The programmes witnessed active participation from officers and staff of concerned converging line departments along with BDO staff, Village Authorities and people from various villages within the blocks.
