October: District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong L.N. Kashung today chaired a virtual meeting of District Nodal Officers appointed for the forthcoming General Election to the State Legislative Assembly, 2027, from the Camp Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong located at 2nd MR Complex.
The meeting was convened to discuss matters relating to election preparedness and the discharge of responsibilities assigned to the respective Nodal Officers.
During the meeting, L.N. Kashung directed all the District Nodal Officers to start working on their assigned responsibilities related to the forthcoming election, while following the instructions given by the Election Commission of India from time to time. He further asked the nodal officers to be mentally prepared and work in close co-ordination with one another.
Additional DEO/ADC, Kamjong H.L. Jain, who also attended the meeting, stressed the importance of team work and coordination among nodal officers in successful conduct of election. He advised the nodal officers to be familiarised with the topography of the district, in order to plan properly and carry out their assigned responsibilities efficiently.
The meeting discussed on matters related to Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), Polling Personnel and Transport Management among others.
Sub-Divisional Officers and District Nodal Officers attended the meeting virtually.
DEO, Kamjong also chaired a virtual meeting of the Sector Officers and Sector Police Officers of Kamjong District to discuss the Vulnerability Mapping Exercise earlier today.
