Senapati: As part of the month-long Seva Sankalp Utsav/Abhiyan, the Senapati District Administration today organised a series of cleanliness and plantation activities across the district under the theme “Seva Mera Yogdan – My Contribution.” The programmes witnessed active participation from various government departments, local bodies, educational institutions, youth organisations, Village Authorities and civil society organisations.

The cleanliness drive saw enthusiastic participation from various government departments in cleaning their respective offices and surrounding areas at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati, as well as different locations in Senapati town.

In Senapati town, the Karong Senapati Town Committee, in collaboration with NSS volunteers, organised a cleanliness drive with the participation of 170 students from St. Xavier College and 70 students from Mt. Everest College. The programme also received support from the Royal Brothers Motorcycle Club, which donated 10 garbage collectors to the Town Committee to support sanitation and cleanliness activities.

Meanwhile, plantation drives led by the Divisional Forest Officer, Senapati, and forest department staff were carried out at several locations, including along the Maram–Peren Road (NH-129A) and at the Residential School, Taphou Naga, among other identified locations. The plantation activities aimed to promote environmental conservation and encourage community participation in creating a greener district.

At the sub-divisional level, the Sub-Divisional Officers coordinated cleanliness drives in villages under their respective jurisdictions in collaboration with Village Authorities and youth organisations. Diya/Candle lighting programmes were also organised as part of the observance.

Similar cleanliness and plantation-related activities were conducted in schools and colleges across the district within their respective campuses and premises under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, Autonomous District Council (ADC), Senapati, and the Zonal Education Officer.

The district-wide observance highlighted the spirit of voluntary service, cleanliness, environmental conservation and community participation, reinforcing the message that collective efforts and individual contributions can play an important role in building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Senapati.Top of FormBottom of FormTop of Form
