Ukhrul: Assam Rifles Shangshak Battalion organised a Village Interaction Programme at Shangshak Khunao, held at the Village Community Hall, to foster mutual trust and enhance civil-military cooperation. The programme brought together senior Assam Rifles personnel and troops, alongside the Village Headman, Pastor, Women President, Youth President, Chairman of the Village Council and nearly 150 villagers.
The interaction provided a meaningful platform for dialogue, enabling the community to share concerns and explore avenues for cooperation. Discussions focused on the need for pre-recruitment training to support local youth7 aspiring to join the Armed Forces and other uniformed services. Emphasis was placed on physical fitness, discipline, educational preparation and awareness of recruitment procedures.
Assam Rifles personnel also informed the gathering about medical facilities available through the Battalion and assured timely assistance in emergencies. The importance of regular medical outreach was highlighted, with assurances of continued cooperation to meet healthcare needs. Broader issues relating to education, employment, infrastructure, connectivity and youth development were deliberated upon, reflecting the community’s aspirations for progress.
The interaction concluded with a reaffirmation of collective commitment towards peace, development and welfare, strengthening the enduring bond between Assam Rifles and the people of Ukhrul District. The initiative underscored the spirit of “Seva Aur Suraksha” and the shared resolve to work together for a secure and prosperous future.
