Churachandpur : Assam Rifles spearheaded targeted youth empowerment and community connect initiatives across Manipur on 21 and 22 August 2026, organising interactive leadership sessions and sports engagements in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts. Unified under the broader theme of national integration and youth development, these activities aimed to inspire young minds, instill discipline and strengthen communal trust.
At Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Veng, Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles conducted an interactive educational session on ‘Joint Indian Army and Leadership’ on 21 August 2026. Attended by approximately 350 students and 5 teachers, the program familiarised the youth with the role and functioning of the Armed Forces, emphasizing the concept of jointness, teamwork and nation-building. The engaging interaction encouraged students to cultivate leadership qualities, embrace social responsibility and adopt a positive approach towards contributing to a progressive society.
Extending this outreach to Kangpokpi district, Company Operating Base at Longa Koireng commemorated Sadbhavana Diwas—a national observance dedicated to promoting communal harmony, emotional oneness and goodwill—at Longa Koireng village on 22 August 2026. The event featured an energetic friendly volleyball match between Assam Rifles personnel and local youth. A total of 35 villagers participated actively, including 12 members of the Longa Koireng volleyball team. Played in an atmosphere of healthy competition, camaraderie and mutual respect, the match provided a constructive platform to foster sportsmanship, discipline and teamwork, while further solidifying interpersonal bonds between security forces and local residents.
