Kakching: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Kakching District Branch today organised handing-over ceremony of an ambulance at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kakching.
The ambulance has been donated by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) to the IRCS Kakching District Branch, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) healthcare initiatives, also with an objective to contribute towards community development and welfare of the people.
The programme was attended by Naorem Praveen Singh, IAS, Secretary (Youth Affairs & Sports/Art & Culture) and Patron Member of IRCS Kakching District; Angeline Renita R, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Kakching and President of IRCS Kakching District; Surendra Kumar Majhi, Chief General Manager (HR), POWERGRID RHQ, Shillong and Waribam Amarjeet, Senior Deputy General Manager, POWERGRID, Imphal.
Ph. Bhavananda Sharma, Additional District Magistrate, along with officials and staff of the Kakching District Administration and officials of IRCS Kakching District Branch attended the ceremony.
The initiative aims to strengthen emergency medical services in Kakching District, particularly in remote and underserved areas during critical golden hours. The initiative is expected to improve emergency medical response, facilitate timely patient referrals and enhance access to essential healthcare services for the local community.
