Manipur holds state-level Tiranga concert 2026

The Governor felicitated the writer, composer and artistes of Roop Raag, who premiered Manipur’s State Song Sana Leibak Manipur in 1967.

Imphal: Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, today, graced the State-level Tiranga Concert held as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026 at the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Imphal. Chief Minister, Yumnam Khemchand Singh; Deputy Chief Ministers Losii Dikho and Nemcha Kipgen (virtually); Ministers Konthoujam Govindas Singh and Khuraijam Loken Singh, Members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Chief Secretary and other distinguished guests attended the event.

As part of the celebration, the writer, composer and artistes of Roop Raag, who premiered Manipur’s State Song Sana Leibak Manipur in 1967, were felicitated by the Governor in recognition of their contribution to the State’s cultural heritage. The celebration also featured a stirring patriotic song performance by artistes of Bal Mukunda Dev Music College, followed by a vibrant choreographic presentation by the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA), adding colour, energy and patriotic fervour to the occasion.

Addressing the Tiranga Concert 2026, Governor called upon citizens to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026 by bringing the National Flag home and hoisting it with pride. He emphasised that bringing the Tiranga home is more than an act of celebration; it is a personal expression of one’s connection with the nation and a collective affirmation that nation-building is a shared responsibility, in which every citizen has a role to play. He said, the 2026 campaign assumes special significance as the nation commemorates 150 years of Vande Mataram, whose enduring message of patriotism and love for the motherland continues to inspire generations.

The Governor also highlighted Manipur’s contribution to the Commonwealth Games 2026, particularly its achievements, as a source of pride for the State and the nation. He further acknowledged the artistes and musicians whose creativity has enriched Manipur’s cultural identity, with a special mention of “Sana Leibak Manipur,” the State Song, which beautifully captures the spirit, heritage and pride of Manipur. He urged citizens to make the Tiranga a visible expression of unity, dignity, courage and collective responsibility.
