Imphal: Assam Rifles, in close coordination with the Border Security Force and Manipur Police, conducted a joint community outreach programme at Leitanpokpi village in Imphal East district on 11 July 2026 as part of its sustained civil-military engagement initiatives. The collaborative initiative sought to promote peace and communal harmony, strengthen public confidence and reinforce constructive engagement between the local population and security forces.
A total of 16 villagers, including village heads and secretaries, actively participated in the interactive session. During the event, a joint team of 16 security personnel and police officials briefed the attendees on the prevailing security situation. The team emphasised the critical importance of preserving peace and public order through proactive grassroots cooperation. The villagers were cautioned against believing or disseminating unverified social media rumours and malicious propaganda, which risk creating fear and mistrust. Instead, they were urged to verify all updates through official channels and promptly report suspicious activities.
Reassuring the residents of their unwavering commitment to public safety, the joint team highlighted ongoing security measures, including area domination patrols and timely humanitarian assistance. The outreach concluded successfully, establishing meaningful dialogue, improving local information sharing and reaffirming a shared commitment to regional stability and socio-economic development.
