NHA CEO calls on Manipur governor to review healthcare initiatives

The Governor underscored the importance of close coordination between the State Government and the National Health Authority for effective implementation of healthcare initiatives and wider public benefit.

Imphal: Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), National Health Authority (NHA), along with senior officers, called on the Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Lok Bhavan, Imphal, today.

Dr. Barnwal briefed the Governor on various healthcare initiatives being implemented by the National Health Authority, including the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Unified Health Interface (UHI), Health Information Exchange Consent Manager (HIE-CM), National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX), and the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA). The team also highlighted key flagship schemes such as the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card for senior citizens and the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), under which eligible beneficiaries are entitled to cashless health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year.

The Governor advised for further strengthening of healthcare facilities and infrastructure in Manipur, with particular emphasis on expanding access to quality healthcare services, improving digital health systems, and enhancing the delivery of health-related social welfare programmes across the State. The Governor stressed the importance of close coordination between the State Government and the National Health Authority to ensure effective implementation of healthcare initiatives and to extend the benefits to all sections of society.
