Senapati: The District Administration, Senapati, successfully concluded the three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir (Public Welfare Camp) today at the SDO/BDO Office Complex, Purul, marking the culmination of an intensive district-wide outreach campaign conducted across all sub-divisions.

The Jan Kalyan Shivir was organised to ensure the effective outreach and saturation of welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes by bringing the services of both the Central and State Governments closer to the grassroots. The initiative sought to enable every eligible citizen to seamlessly access government schemes, benefits, and essential public services.

During the concluding programme at Purul, various welfare benefits and services were extended to beneficiaries by different departments. These included the issuance of land ownership certificates, renewal of PM-KISAN registrations, distribution of tree saplings, and facilitation of various banking services and schemes. Service delivery stalls set up by different departments provided information on government welfare programmes, facilitated enrolment, addressed public grievances, and delivered on-the-spot services under a wide range of flagship schemes.

The district-wide campaign was conducted under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S, IAS, and supervised by the respective Sub-Divisional Officers of Senapati, Lairouching, Willong, Tadubi, Song Song, Paomata, Phaibung-Chilivai, and Purul. Camps were organised at multiple locations, including the Multi-Purpose Hall, Senapati; DRDA Hall, Paomata Centre; Community Hall, Sangkhumai Village; Ngari Khullen Community Hall; Maram Centre Village Community Hall; Kalinamai Community Hall; and the Office Hall of SDO Tadubi.

According to the official cumulative progress report, the three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir campaign recorded a total participation of 2,644 people across the district. Altogether, 1,870 applications were received, while 1,696 applications were successfully disposed of on the spot, reflecting the administration’s commitment to delivering timely and accessible public services.

The programmes were attended by the concerned Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), District Level Officers (DLOs) and their staff, representatives of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Village Authorities, community leaders, youth organisations, and members of the general public, among others.

The successful completion of the Jan Kalyan Shivir underscores the District Administration’s continued commitment to ensuring last-mile delivery of government services and strengthening citizen-centric governance across Senapati district.
