Jan Kalyan Shivir continues for Bishnupur

Bishnupur: The three-day Public Welfare Camp, Jan Kalyan Shivir, continued successfully for Bishnupur District with the second day of the camp held today at Chingphu Ningthou Sembileima Haraobung, Ishok. More than 1000 citizens attended the camp and availed various welfare services.

Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, attended the camp and inspected the stalls set up by different departments. Speaking on the occasion, she informed that the Jan Kalyan Shivir is a public welfare initiative aimed at facilitating fresh registrations under various beneficiary-oriented schemes, rectification of errors in existing records, and expeditious disposal of pending cases and public grievances.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that the camp is being organised across the country from 12th to 20th June with the objective of ensuring effective outreach and saturation of welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes so that every eligible citizen can access government services and benefits. She urged all officials to discharge their responsibilities sincerely and contribute towards making the camp a grand success.

Pooja Elangbam further informed that the final day of the camp will be held on 20th June at Maibram Mandop near Ibudhou Thangjing Temple, Moirang. She appealed to the public to participate actively and avail themselves of the various services and benefits being offered.

More than 20 departments participated in the camp by setting up service stalls, including Health, Social Welfare, Fisheries, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAF&PD), MSPDCL, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, District Child Protection Unit, Planning, Election, and MSRLM, among others.

Additional District Magistrate Bishnupur, Toijam Opendro; AC to DC, Sh. Gunamani; SDO Nambol, Shyamkumar; and other District Level Officers were present during the programme.

It may be mentioned that the District Election Office, Bishnupur, also organised a special camp in connection with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), 2026. Similar camps were organised on the first day at the PRC Hall, Bishnupur, and will also be conducted on the final day of the Jan Kalyan Shivir.
