Kangpokpi: The District Administration Kangpokpi rolled out its three-day  administrative outreach programme, the Jan Kalyan Shivir (JKL)  a public welfare camps across the  9 Sub-Divisions of the district which aims to bridge the gap between intended beneficiary and various welfare scheme of the Central and State governments to every eligible citizens. The “Jan Kalyan Shivir” is a public welfare camps campaign which begins today’s in Kangpokpi district for three days starting from 17th till 19th June which will ensured that the eligible beneficiaries receive services through camps and local activities. The campaign includes awareness programmes on government schemes, village meetings and outreach activities, health screening and entitlement camps among others.

The welfare campaign was organized across 10 different locations: Ramgailong, Nungsai Chiru, Sandangsenba Maring, Kalapahar, the Saitu-Gamphazol Office, the Saikul SDO Office, Molkon Bazar, T. Waichong Villages, T. Khullen, and the DC Office in Kangpokpi. The events drew a large turnout, including numerous local participants and government officials from various line departments. Today’s camps focused on raising awareness in remote areas and connecting residents with essential services through activities such as explaining eligibility criteria, identifying beneficiaries, assisting with form-filling, and conducting health screenings. The initiative successfully drove the saturation of several core government schemes on the ground. This included facilitating enrollments for health and social security benefits like Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), CMHT, and various PM pension and insurance plans, alongside agricultural support through PM-Kisan, Kisan Credit Cards, and regional value chain assistance for crops like Kiwi and King Chilli. Additionally, residents were connected with housing and utility services—including PM Awas Yojana, PM Surya Ghar (Solar), and PM Ujjwala Yojana—while local growth was stimulated through livelihood programs such as the Startup Manipur Scheme, PM-Vishwakarma, and PM-SVANidhi street vendor loans.

As part of the campaign, Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, also visited Sandangsenba Maring under the Island Sub-Division, where he interacted with village chiefs, staff members, and local citizens.
