Three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir begins in Kakching

Kakching: A three-day Public Welfare Camp, “Jan Kalyan Shivir” aimed at ensuring the effective outreach and saturation of welfare and beneficiary oriented schemes of both the Central and State Governments to every eligible citizen, began today at the DC Office Complex in Kakching district. The camp is being organised by the District Administration, Kakching.

Deputy Commissioner of Kakching, Angeline Renita R, IAS, inspected the various service counters and facilities set up by participating departments at the camp held at DC Office Complex. Facilities were provided to the public for fresh registrations under various welfare and beneficiary schemes, correction and rectification of errors in existing records and applications, disposal of pending cases & grievances and delivery of benefits under eligible Central and State Government schemes.

Among the major services offered at the camp are enrolment under the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme (MOAPS), Chief Minister’s Widow Pension Scheme, on-the-spot registration under schemes of the Horticulture Department, PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), revenue bill payment services, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) enrollment, Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT), Startup Manipur Scheme and several other citizen-centric services provided by different government departments.

Different departments and agencies participated in the camp, including the offices of the SDO/SDC Kakching, BDO Kakching CD Block, District Agriculture Office Thoubal/Kakching, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAF & PD) Kakching, District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit Thoubal/Kakching, District Health Society Kakching, District Horticulture and Soil Conservation Thoubal/Kakching, District Fishery Office Kakching, Zonal Education Office Kakching, District Handloom and Textiles Office Kakching, Kakching Municipal Council, District Transport Office Kakching, District Veterinary Office Kakching, Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited, District Social Welfare Office Kakching, State Bank of India Kakching and the Water Resources Department, among others.

Phurailatpam Bhavananda, MCS, Additional District Magistrate Kakching; Okram Sandhyarani, MCS, AC to DC; Kherdananda Potshangbam, MCS, SDO Kakching, and other district-level officers were also present during the programme.

The Jan Kalyan Shivir will continue at the SDO Office Complex, Waikhong, on June 19 and will conclude on June 20 at the DC Office Complex, Kakching. The camp will remain open from 11 am to 3 pm.
