Imphal: The Assam Rifles continues to spearhead a sustained campaign of holistic wellness, reinforcing its commitment to physical and mental well-being in the lead-up to the 12th International Day of Yoga 2026. As part of a larger 100-day countdown to the event, the force has been organising a series of consistent wellness initiatives across Manipur to promote a culture of fitness, discipline and mindfulness among security personnel and their families.

On 19 May 2026, these efforts progressed with comprehensive programmes at two prominent locations. At Dronacharya Hall in the Keithelmanbi Garrison, Imphal West, a total of 155 participants engaged in immersive sessions featuring diverse asanas, pranayama exercises, stretching drills and meditation techniques under expert guidance. This session prioritised the enhancement of flexibility, posture, breathing control and emotional resilience, equipping participants with essential tools to navigate demanding operational environments. Simultaneously, at the Mantripukhri Garrison, Imphal East, 191 personnel attended an insightful programme focused on the diverse forms of yoga, providing valuable knowledge on integrating these ancient practices into daily routines to bolster concentration and mitigate stress.

These activities represent a vital component of the ongoing, long-term series of engagements being conducted by the force across the state. By fostering these disciplined wellness practices, the Assam Rifles cultivates a robust culture of fitness and mental clarity, ensuring that security personnel remain prepared to meet professional obligations with sustained vigour and dedication.
