Imphal: On 17 May 2026, a detachment of 25 personnel of Assam Rifles actively assisted in the successful conduct of the 7th Khongjom War Memorial Cross Country Race at Sangaiyumpham in Thoubal district. Organised by the Sports Coaching Foundation of Manipur under the vibrant theme “Run for Roots & Race for Pride”, this grand sporting event drew an enthusiastic assembly of approximately 300 young athletes, students and local residents. Competitors showcased immense physical grit across various competitive categories, including specific one to five-kilometre distance runs tailored for both men and women in the open category.
