1400 athletes compete as Assam Rifles officer clinches bronze in Lucknow

Imphal: Commandant Manmohan Vishwakarma of Assam Rifles achieved a significant milestone by securing a Bronze Medal at the 2nd All India Police Badminton and Table Tennis Cluster 2025-26. Held at Lucknow district in Uttar Pradesh from 9 to 13 May 2026, the prestigious tournament was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and featured a massive contingent of approximately 1,400 athletes from over 32 teams. Representing the force, the officer displayed exceptional grit and tactical brilliance against formidable opponents from various State Police forces and Central Armed Police Forces. This remarkable feat at a premier national event underscores the burgeoning sporting culture and inter-departmental camaraderie within the region. Upon his return to Keithelmanbi Garrison in Imphal West district, senior officials and his colleagues extended their heartfelt congratulations to the officer for his commendable accomplishment.
