Imphal: Assam Rifles continues to play a pivotal role in fostering a progressive environment for local communities in Manipur by actively promoting sports and youth empowerment. On 30 March 2026, under its Civic Action Programme, the force distributed hockey kits to the players of Social Youth United Club at Uchekon Khunou in Imphal East District. This initiative reflects the steadfast commitment of Assam Rifles to nation-building and community development in the North East, extending its reach beyond core security responsibilities. By providing essential resources at the grassroots level, the force is enabling local youth to channel their energy into disciplined and constructive pursuits.
The Social Youth United Club, a vital platform for youth engagement, will benefit from this support through enhanced training standards and better prospects for competitive participation. Mr Bijoy Koijam, a prominent public figure of Manipur, attended the event and acknowledged the consistent role of the force in uplifting local communities. Residents expressed deep appreciation for the sustained outreach, highlighting how such initiatives create opportunities and build confidence while fostering a sense of inclusion and progress. Through these focused and people-centric efforts, a contingent of officials and personnel strengthened the connection with the people of Manipur. Such activities serve as a catalyst for stability and development, ensuring that the youth are integrated into the journey towards long-term peace in the region.
