Imphal:  The Thadou Students’ Association (TSA) strongly condemns and categorically rejects the baseless complaint filed by one Lungoulen Guite in the name of “Thadou Inpi-Sadar Hills” against social activist Ashang Kasar on March 15, 2026, at Kangpokpi Police Station. This is yet another shameless exploitation of the tragic killing of two “Kuki” men (Thengin Baite and Thangboimang Khongsai) in Kamjong district, an incident with zero involvement or connection to the Thadou community, to misuse our name, fuel division, and pursue narrow political gains.

Lungoulen Guite, an IDP from Imphal, has absolutely no authority to invoke the Thadou in Kangpokpi district. His so-called “Thadou Inpi – Sadar Hills” is a fraudulent, unrecognized proxy outfit, repeatedly exposed and condemned by TSA-GHQ as a sham front for Kuki supremacist agendas, not of Thadou community’s mandate.

Ashang Kasar’s remarks on Impact TV’s “Manung Hutna” (Episode 58: “After Meitei-Kuki, Naga-Kuki Next?”), aired March 12, 2026, addressed the incident within the context of escalating Naga-Kuki tensions. Claims that these were “false and misleading” or promoted enmity are a deliberate distortion aimed at suppressing open discourse and protecting vested interests by Kuki supremacists in the name of Thadou. Invoking BNS Sections 196 and 353(2) will be a clear abuse of legal process aimed at intimidating critics and wrongly entangling the Thadou name in unrelated communal pain.

While no Kuki organizations have directly addressed recent incidents in ways that reflect genuine accountability, some factions opportunistically invoke the Thadou identity to muddy waters, exploit ethnic tensions, and drag our distinct name into unrelated conflicts. This is a calculated tactic to blur lines, misrepresent facts, and leverage the Thadou name as a shield or wedge, much like misusing shared elements of Christianity or tribal status to evoke false solidarity or sentiment.

The Thadou tribe remains a distinct, constitutionally recognized Scheduled Tribe with its own proud history and identity, no impostor or proxy can hijack, subsume, or weaponize it for ideological battles. This pattern of misuse, evident in proxy outfits like certain “Thadou Inpi” variants, false representations in media discussions, or attempts to link Thadou to unrelated violence, only fuels mistrust and undermines communal harmony in Manipur. It must stop immediately.

We denounce this complaint as outright identity theft, harassment, and an assault on free speech and harmony. Guite and his associates must immediately cease misrepresenting the Thadou community, or face unrelenting opposition from TSA and all authentic Thadou institutions.

The TSA reaffirms its unwavering commitment to defending Thadou autonomy, dignity, and rights while upholding peace, truth, and constitutional values in Manipur. The Thadou voice belongs solely to the Thadou people, not proxies or opportunists. No more fabrications. No more misuse
