Indian Army to host 2nd edition of Chanakya Defence Dialogue

New Delhi: The Indian Army is set to host the second edition of its flagship international seminar, the Chanakya Defence Dialogue, on October 24 and 25, 2024, at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. 

The event, themed “Drivers in Nation Building: Fuelling Growth Through Comprehensive Security,” aims to foster critical discussions on integrating security dynamics into national and global policymaking, while developing forward-thinking strategies for sustainable and inclusive growth.

This two-day seminar will feature a distinguished gathering of policymakers, strategic experts, academics, defence personnel, veterans, scientists, and SMEs from India and abroad. Key speakers from the United States, Russia, Israel, and Sri Lanka will participate in discussions that focus on India’s strategic roadmap towards Viksit Bharat @2047, with a particular emphasis on the role of comprehensive security in national development.

Defence Minister Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the event as Chief Guest and launch two major initiatives: the Indian Army’s Green Initiative 1.0 and Digitisation of IA 1.0. In his keynote address on “India’s Vision for Development and Security,” he will highlight the critical importance of comprehensive security in realizing Viksit Bharat @2047

General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, will also deliver remarks, emphasizing the Indian Army’s contributions to nation-building, particularly through initiatives supporting Atmanirbhar Bharat.
