Imphal: In a continued crackdown on disruptive elements and efforts to restore normalcy in the state, a joint operation was conducted by Assam Rifles, the Indian Army, Manipur Police, and BSF in the Mahoutera area of Kakching district on Friday.
During the combing operation, the team recovered a significant haul of weaponry, including one INSAS rifle, a country-made 9mm pistol, five grenades, various ammunition, and other warlike stores. All recovered items were handed over to the Manipur Police.
In a separate operation the same day, security forces carried out a search in Wainem Keinou Maning and Ayokpa Khun areas of the Bishnupur district.
This operation resulted in the seizure of one AK assault rifle, a .303 bolt-action rifle, a 9mm pistol, a .32mm pistol, a 12-bore single-barrel gun, 12 grenades, and additional ammunition and warlike items. These weapons were also handed over to the Manipur Police.
