Imphal: Assam Rifles organized a highly successful and engaging community event in Old Samtal, Chandel district, Manipur, from July 17 to 19, 2024.
The three-day event was aimed at strengthening community ties, promoting health, education, and creativity, and providing entertainment for all ages.
The event featured a range of activities, including a tree plantation drive, a friendly volleyball match, a comprehensive medical health camp, and a drawing and painting competition for encouraging young talents to express their creativity and hone their skills.
The event kicked off with a tree plantation drive, wherein villagers and Assam Rifles personnel came together and planted 2000 saplings. The comprehensive medical health camp organised offering free check-ups and consultations for the villagers wherein 81 Children and 100 villagers participated.
Additionally, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Assam Rifles delivered an informative lecture on hypertension, raising awareness and were given valuable health tips to the community.
A mobile library and movie screening were set up to foster a love for reading and learning. The event culminated in a flag hoisting ceremony, symbolizing unity and pride.
The villagers’ enthusiastic participation and appreciation for Assam Rifles’ initiatives underscored the strong bond between the unit and the local community, demonstrating their shared commitment to community development and well-being, stated a press note from the PRO IGAR(S).
