Imphal: The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee President, Keisham Meghachandra, took the opportunity on Sunday to present the newly-elected MPs from the state, Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam and Alfred Kangam S. Arthur, to Rahul Gandhi.
This introduction occurred amidst Meghachandra’s presence, alongside former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, in Delhi for the inaugural meeting of the Congress Working Committee.

During the CWC session, Meghachandra proposed Rahul Gandhi’s name as the Leader of Opposition in Parliament. He brought attention to the pressing issue of violence in Manipur, urging for swift resolution.
He commended Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,’ which commenced from Manipur’s Thoubal district and contributed to the election victory of two Congress MPs from Manipur.
Meghachandra emphasized Gandhi’s earnest dedication to fostering peace and harmony in the state and highlighted.
