2nd round of training for female polling personnel concludes in Churachandpur

Churachandpur: The second round of training for Female Polling Personnel (party-wise) for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha General election, 2024, in respect of 58-Churachand(ST) AC, 59- Saikot(ST) AC, Special Training for first-time presiding officers and polling officers, all categories of reserved pool (male and female) concluded on Saturday at Churachandpur Government College. 

At the same time, Wall of Democracy (a signature campaign in College) as part of SVEEP activities was held at Churachandpur Govt College today under the auspices of SVEEP Nodal Officer Vidyamari Sridhar, IAS.

Today’s training sessions was held under the supervision of S. Thienlaljoy Gangte, Nodal Officer (Training Management); Lalthanza, Nodal Officer (Manpower) and Soiminlian Lengen, Nodal Officer (Postal Ballot). 

In Saturday’s’ training programme, twelve District Level Master Trainers imparted training to first-time female Presiding Officers and Polling Officers-I for the effective management of polling stations during the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

The trainers also efficiently imparted hands-on training in operating electronic voting machines (EVM), Control Unit, Ballot Unit, VVPATs and others voting materials as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India(ECI) in managing polling stations  ensuring fairness of the voting behaviour on the day ofthe election.

District Election Officer/DC Dharun Kumar personally oversaw the training at the venue. 

Out of 274 polling stations in Churachandpur District, 110 polling stations will be managed by female polling personnel. 15 special polling stations are also being planned for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) or specified voters. 

Altogether, around 544 female polling personnels participated in the training session.
