Kangpokpi: A four-day training program for polling personnel commenced from Monday in Kangpokpi District Headquarters for the ensuing 18th General Elections to the Lok Sabha, 2024.
Altogether 1,137 (one thousand one hundred and thirty-seven) polling personnel o will undergo the training program till March 29.
The training programme was conducted for the first batch of polling personnel at the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC), Kangpokpi District. Altogether 120 (one hundred and twenty) polling personnel attended the first day of the training.

The training, given under the supervision of the District Election Officer (DEO), primarily centers around the crucial role of Presiding Officers in ensuring smooth and efficient conduct of the elections. The training aims to equip all the polling personnel with necessary knowledge to execute responsibility effectively.
Nodal Officer for EVMs Management, Lamminlal Simte (Deputy DEO/SDO, T. Waichong) interacted with the polling personnel regarding familiarization process of Mock Polls. He also made the polling personnel understand the importance of Polling Agents & Micro Observers and their roles in maintaining transparency as well as to curb the malpractices during the poll process.
Meanwhile, Hemant Kumar, AC to DC, LM Len Singsit (EO/SDO Champhai), Md. Hefajuddin (SDO, K.Geljang & Bungte Chiru) and Samuel Misao (SDO, Lhungtim) also gave training to the trainees.
