Imphal: HQ IGAR (South) flagged off a 14-day National Integration Tour under Operation Sadbhavna from Pallel on Saturday.
Twenty-six students comprising 14 girls and 12 boys in the age group 10 – 16 years and three teaching staff belonging to four schools from different locations of Tengnoupal district (Manipur) along with administrative staff make up the tour team.
The National Integration Tour aims to enable the participants to explore the rich tapestry of our nation’s heritage, instilling in them a deep appreciation for unity in diversity and ultimately empowering them to become ambassadors of peace and unity.
During the fourteen-day tour, the participants will visit New Delhi, the National capital where in addition to sightseeing they will visit the NSG Centre at Manesar nearby. The participants will also explore Dehradun, the picturesque capital of Uttarakhand wherein they will visit the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the cradle of Indian military leadership.
In addition to the visits, they have interactions scheduled with various dignitaries including the Commandant of IMA and the Centre Commandant of NSG.
The flagging-off ceremony was marked by an enthusiastic atmosphere filled with hope and excitement wherein parents and guardians of the students were also in attendance. On this occasion, the students performed cultural dances and presented songs demonstrating National Unity.
The National Integration tour event will foster the spirit of patriotism and camaraderie among the participants and they in turn will spread the same positive message amongst the society, according to a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
