Imphal: Two persons succumbed to the ongoing pandemic, 132 persons from the general population and 8 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) tested positive and 38 persons recovered in the last 24 hours leading up to 5:00 am of Sunday in Manipur, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
Two male residents of Imphal West, one 51 years of age and the other 59 years of age expired at Raj Medicity and RIMS Hospital respectively, taking the death toll due to the pandemic in the state to 385.
The 132 persons (73 males, 59 females) from the general population who tested positive include 59 from Imphal West, 44 from Imphal East, 8 from Bishnupur, 5 each from Ukhrul and Churachandpur 4 from Thoubal, 3 from Senapati and 1 each from Kakching, Kangpokpi, Tengnoupal and Chandel.
Meanwhile, 38 recoveries were reported which include 21 who were on home isolation, 11 from Shri and 3 each from RIMS and CAPF. The recovery rate of the state now stands at 96.08%.
Meanwhile, The health department has instructed air passengers who travelled to the state on (i) April 20 by Indigo Flight 6E-6358 in rows 18-24 and on (ii) April 22 by Indigo Flight 6E – 6181 in rows 2-10 and by Air India Flight AI – 889 in rows 12-18, to inform Covid Common Control Room 1800343818 or respective District Surveillance Officer (DSO).
The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 30,421 (General Population — 26,785 and Central Security Personnel — 3,519). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,231 (General Population — 25,785 and CAPF— 3,446). The number of active cases is 805 (general population 736 and CAPF 69).
As per the latest information, the total number of vaccination 129099.
The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, and select private hospitals.
