Two killed in election violence in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Two people, including a supporter of the boat symbol nominated by Awami League in Munshiganj headquarters and a supporter of an independent candidate in Pirojpur’s Mathbaria, were killed in the election violence, according to Dhakatimes24.
Separate attacks took place in Mirukhali Union of Mathbaria Upazila on Wednesday afternoon and Munshikandi village of Mollakandi Union of Munshiganj Sadar Upazila late on the same day.
In addition, in two separate incidents of electoral violence in Boalmari upazila, there were allegations of beating and injuring three supporters of the independent candidate of Faridpur-1 constituency against the boat supporters.

Jahangir, who was seriously injured in the attack, was first taken to the Upazila Health Complex. From there he was admitted to Barisal Shebachim Hospital. When the situation deteriorated there too, he was sent to Dhaka. Jahangir died on his way to Dhaka early Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, Jahangir’s wife, Runu Begum, who was killed in the attack, has filed a case at the police station as the plaintiff, the police said.
Mathbaria Upazila Mirukhali Union Awami League President and former UP Chairman Abdus Sobahan Sharif said Wednesday afternoon. If Jahangir’s election campaign comes out, the independent candidate Dr. Supporters of Rustam Ali Faraji carried out the sudden attack.
Meanwhile, Dalim Sardar (30), who was shot dead in Munshiganj Sadar, is a supporter of Awami League candidate Mrinal Kanti Das and a resident of the same area, locals said.
On Thursday morning, Dalim Sardar was rescued from a bullet wound and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
