Guwahati: The final decision on seat sharing among partners of the BJP-led alliance in Assam for the Lok Sabha elections will be taken by February end next year, state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Wednesday.
Sarma’s remarks came after a crucial meeting of all the parties of the alliance here.
It was the first formal meeting of the alliance partners for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
BJP state president Bhabesh Kalita, Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora, United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) president Pramod Boro, and presidents of Ganashakti Assam and leader of Rabha Joint Forum attended the meeting.
The alliance will win at least 11 Lok Sabha seats out of 14 in the state in the Lok Sabha election, Sarma claimed.
“We don’t have any problem with the rest of the parties dividing the remaining seats,” he added.
