Imphal: In a display of unwavering commitment to connect with all the communities and build upon several initiatives for achieving lasting peace, troops of the Red Shield Division of the Indian Army, distributed basic and necessary study and stationery items to students of various schools of Saiton Village, Bishnupur district and Chehjnag village in Churachandpur district on 27 October 2023.
The initiative of the Indian Army reinforced its effort to enable the return of peace and stability in the region so that a conducive environment and opportunities are available to the Manipuri students to enjoy their basic right to education.
Army personnel also interacted with students and locals of the area, re-emphasizing the need to maintain peace. This goodwill gesture was highly appreciated by locals and they expressed gratitude towards the Indian Army and extended their unwavering support, said a press note issued by the PRO (Defence), Kohima & Imphal.
