Odisha: Vigilance sleuths arrest Junior Engineer in DA case

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Thursday arrested a Junior Engineer after disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees were unearthed in his name and in the name of his family members.
Vigilance sources here said Prasanna Kumar Pati (JE ) Technical consultant in the Samanta Sikhya Abhiyan office of BEO ,Pallalahara in Anugul was arrested after disproportionate assets worth crores were recovered during a search.
The assets included among other things five buildings—including three multi-storied buildings and a flat in Bhubaneswar, 26 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Pipili and Nimapara (Puri), Jankia and Jatani (Khurdha).
The Vigilance officials also detected deposits over Rs 64.18 lakh , around 832 grams of gold jewellery, Rs 3.33 lakh in cash during the search operation on Wednesday.
