Israel’s army says striking in ‘area in Lebanon’ in response to fire

Lebanese broadcaster Al Mayadeen reported that the village of Kfarchouba was subject to Israel's fire in southern Lebanon.

Beirut: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Sunday that it was striking “the area in Lebanon” in response to fire from the area.

“IDF Artillery is currently striking the area in Lebanon from where a shooting was carried out,” the IDF said on Telegram, adding that it “has been taking preparational measures for this type of possibility and will continue to operate in all regions and at any time necessary to ensure the safety of the Israeli civilians.”

Lebanese broadcaster Al Mayadeen reported that the village of Kfarchouba was subject to Israel’s fire in southern Lebanon.

The IDF also said it has hit “two banks belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization for terror funds, among them the Islamic National Bank which serves the organization by financing terrorist activity, and the First Bank belonging to the organization.” The IDF also has struck an aerial weapons production site used by the Islamic Jihad movement in the city of Gaza and a building, used for storing weapons and military equipment.

The IDF added that it has struck the Hamas movement’s intelligence headquarters and a military compound in the Gaza Strip.
