Chandel: The 43rd district level science seminar, 2023, in respect of Chandel District, on the topic “Millets – a super food or diet fad” was organised by The Science Unit, ZEO Chandel, at Maha Union Hr. Sec. School, Chandel on Monday.
The opening function of the program was attended by Y. Hemchandra ZEO, Chandel, K.L. Warson, Principal, Maha Union Hr.Sec. School, L.Priyokumar Singh, D.I. of schools, ZEO Chandel and KH. Moshaingam, P.O.ZEO, Chandel as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
It may be mentioned that the school science seminars are being organised in all districts in order to inculcate a scientific enquiry and analytical thinking in the minds of young students. The selected students from the districts will be participating in the State level Student’s Science Seminar, and the top selected students will be participating in the national level competition to be held in the National capital later.
All together 50 students from different schools of Chandel District participated in today’s seminar. Of which one student, SP. Tothahring, class – X, of Oak Hill Christian Academy, Panchai, was selected for participating at the state level competition.
Concurrently, a Poster making, Poetry writing, an awareness program and a quiz competition on the theme, “India on the Moon with Tiranga was also organised by the Zonal Education Office, Chande lat the Japhou Upper Primary School, Japhou, Chandel on Monday.
