Imphal: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh distributed one-time financial assistance to beneficiaries under Special Scheme for Education of Children of Labour Card Holders staying at Relief Camps.
The distribution programme which was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Sunday was organized by the Manipur Building and Other Construction worker’s Welfare Board. One-time financial assistance of a sum of Rs. 5000 was handed over to the beneficiaries by the Chief Minister.
After distributing the financial assistance, N. Biren Singh interacted with the beneficiaries who are currently staying at relief camps and listened to the grievances brought up by them. The Chief Minister also informed that the Government is taking up all necessary measures for the welfare of the people affected by the recent violence occurred in the State.
Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai, Chairperson, Manipur Building and Other Construction worker’s Welfare Board K. Saratkumar Singh and other officials also attended the programme among others.
Under the special scheme, one-time financial assistance of a sum of Rs. 5000 shall be provided for the education of children to every family having a valid labour card and staying in the relief camps set up by the Government of Manipur.
