Two planes collide during air race in US, both pilots killed

Washington: Two planes collided during an air race at the Reno air show in the US state of Nevada, killing both pilots, the Reno Air Racing Association (RARA) said on Monday.

“It is with great sorrow that the Reno Air Racing Association (RARA) announces that around 2:15 p.m. this afternoon, at the conclusion of the T-6 Gold race, upon landing, two planes collided and it has been confirmed that both pilots are deceased,” the organization said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The association is investigating the causes of the incident together with the National Transportation Safety Board, local authorities and the US Federal Aviation Administration, the statement read.

No civilians were injured due to the crash, the organization added.
