Odisha: Two trampled to death by wild elephant

The police identified the deceased as Shankar Biswal and Jhillii Majhi. Both died on the spot.

Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed in Pateli village under Anugul Forest Division in Odisha after two people were killed in a wild elephant attack in the wee hours of Thursday.


The police identified the deceased as Shankar Biswal and Jhillii Majhi. Both died on the spot.


Sources said both Biswal and Majhi were trampled to death while going to answer the call of nature.


Soon after the incident, irate villagers blocked the road close to the village after informing the forest officials.


The police have reached the spot and are trying to bring the situation under control.
