Imphal: During the last 24 hours, eight arms and 112 ammunitions, six explosives were recovered from Bishnupur and Imphal West districts during a search operations carried out in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi and Imphal West districts.
Six bunkers were also destroyed in the Tengnoupal district, said a press note from the Police Control Room, Manipur Police.
On August 15 and 16 intermittent firing was reported from adjoining hills of Konta Sabal and Koutruk.
Meanwhile, Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) arrested one person from Imphal West and three persons from Assam and seized 1240 bottles of Relex – CT containing Codeine Phosphate from Mantripukri, Imphal East.
Altogether 122 check posts were set up in different districts of Manipur both in the hills and valley and 1130 persons were detained in connection with various violations during the last 24 hours, the press note added.
